I'm very happy with my iPod Video (30GB, 5.5G). Anyone who's anti-iPod is just being a counter-culture nerd.

No maybe ppl are just smart enough to figure out that there are better deals out there than an ipod. We're not anti-Ipod we're just smart consumers who don't fall for the Ipod hype.

If this is what you think, then congradulations your just another tool whose fallen for Apple's marketing techniques.

You should get these while your at it

Certain features matter more to some people than to others. Personally, unless the mp3 player looks like something from 1980 or the thing is literally the size of the brick, I don't really care about its looks or size. The Creative Vision:M has more features and is a much better value than the Ipod and that's why I bought it, but it's also about twice as thick as the Ipod video.

Sweeping generalizations like "counter-culture nerds" or "tool" don't really help. The Ipod is actually a very good mp3 player. Are there better mp3 players out there? Well, it depends on what features you value most. Also, I would seriously recommend trying out a mp3 player before you buy one. Personally, I love the Creative interface, but some people swear by the Ipod's interface. It's a very personally choice.

Creative has decent interface, and iPod's interface isn't godlike or anything, but the click wheel? Damn, once the wheel was taken, I don't think ANY player has come close in ease of navigation.

TWICE AS THICK as the iPod Video. That is key. The iPod has been the smallest 20GB player for a long time (ok sorry, I come from the 4th Gen. Era), but every player that everyone has produced is never as sexy and never as small. Sure you can throw in lower prices, more features, etc, but you can never take down the iPod that easily. Sure there are retards who go for iPods, but there are also smart consumers too.

It's kinda like Nokia's N73 phone or N80 phone. Why do people still buy Sony Ericsson K790/800s if Nokia has a better phone out there? It's because of portability. You can get almost everything in a K800 w/ (the most important part being the 3 MP camera + MP3 player) while sacrificing af ew things like Wifi or whatever extra features Nokia packs.

Similarly, the iPod gives you the MP3 player which is what you paid for. Everything else is extra. So when judging pure MP3-player, the iPod is a killer.
