Advice on a Digital Camcorder

Hi guys, next year at my job I am going to be in charge of the social media and blogging for our school. Since I will be doing a lot of on-the-fly video recording, what is the best one out there for me to use?

I will be recording a lot of sporting events, as well as interviewing teachers/students in some noisy environments (so the ability to add a mic to it is a must!)

Thanks in advance for your advice!

Sony HX20. I really think it's the best camcorder though it's a stills P&S. However, I don't think it supports mic.

If you want to take it further and create a very professional looking video, you might consider Canon 600D, 650D, 60D or above. Or, Panasonic GH2. Since you'll be shooting in an environment where you won't have control, I suggest GH2.

If you didn't need the external mic, the Sony would be a great recommendation.
Its video is superlative.

I don't know if you're considering DSLR, but the Nikon D3200 has an external mic option.
You'd also benefit with a DSLR for your sporting events ( particularly if they're indoors.)
