hey i just saw this great deal for a 19" (18" viewable) here and since some of you might not be wantin to use valuable bandwidth ill display stats:

its a generic monitor in other words not big branded
- Screen - 19" Colour (18" Viewable Area)
- Dot Pitch - 0.26mm
- Maximum Resolution - 1600 x 1200

for only £ 116.32 Inc Vat !!!!

so is it worthwhile to get cause otherwise i will be getting a 17" at this price but would probably be a little brand like Belyinea or something!

please let me know! lol i sound like a loser askin please!:D

blade2 the best response i will give you on monitors is to check them out locally on a simmilar setup if possible to see the differences that matter to you.some will look better to you than to me as we are different.
if price is a main concern try to find reviews on the model and make a better guess if the local idea is out.

it sounds like a great deal.but great deals can go bad if it doesn't meet your needs/wants.

i know this isn't the answer you were wanting in all probability but it is the best.

hope this helps

Jobs build character!
and if you want to build a lot of character, I'd say go for a 19" LCD...:p
But seriously, definitely look at the moniter before you buy it if possible, otherwise go for something a little bit more name-brand.
And on a side note, if you're mostly looking at the web and cost is an issue, a 17" moniter would probably suit your needs.
Going for 15" to 17" is a HUGE difference, and I doubt you'll be disapointed.

in that case go for any upgrade lol i went from a 13 inch to a 21 and i hate small monitors now.any thing is better but the truth remains color and contrast make a huge difference on most monitors and a lot of companies skimp on parts that drag down image quality hence i say see before you buy.

good luck on the job and before spending that "hard earned money" do your homework you won't be disappointed

Save your eyes, get a cornerstone p1460 OR the new 19inch hitachi lcd flat panel screen (cml190b).
The p1460 is less than half the price of the hitachi AND the p1460 is designed for 1600 X 1200 resolution at 85hz refresh rate :). My setup runs at 1200 X 768 @ 120hz refresh rate and the image is so stable I love it. I get absolutely No Eye Strain!
