Which of these cards would be the better choice for my system?

I'm planning on either buying a " ATI Radeon 9700 pro " or a "Geforce 4 TI 4600"

Also is there any difference in quality between the ATI and Gigabyte versions of the radeon 9700 pro ?

And also , which is the best make of geforce 4 TI 4600 ?

heres are my specs.............

P4 1.9 GHZ
768 MB PC 133 RAM
MOTHERBOARD .........GIGABYTE GA8IDMNF (COSMOS)
GEFORCE 2 MX 400 (CURRENTLY)

Any Help would be appreciated , as I really cant decide which i should go for.......................thanks
 
9700... you don't want to be buying something that will be replaced in a month or two... as if 6 months wasn't bad enough.
 
I recommend a Radeon 8500 or a GF4 Ti4200, 128mb versions.

Here's why....

You'll get a big performance boost over your present card, you'll save about $200 and you'll be fine with games for the next year. There are very few games out now that are fully Direct 8.1 enhanced, and none that will use DirectX9 until next summer or later.

As always, JMHO.
