Advice needed on universal remote -- any good ones out there??!?

After my second attempt at buying a universal remote, I think it's time to consult the vast knowledge store of ATOT. My first one and second one were from the All-in-One company (first one may have had a different name though), and both were fine for awhile but then went screwy for no apparent reason. I gave up on the first one, but we're still doggedly using the second even though it's a huge hassle.

We're a little limited in local selection since we're in Japan so we'll have to go net ordering. Does anyone have any recommendations for a remote to control CD, DVD, receiver, TV, and satellite (multiple brands: Yamaha, Pioneer, Scientific American, JVC)? Price, within reason, is not a consideration -- I'm willing to spend $150 or so if the thing will work reliably.

Thanks in advance!

I use Sony RM-AV3000.
It is the best remote that I've ever used.
It can control just about anything, even my fans :)
I got it at ecost for $89 (refurb) and never have any problem.
They sell it brand new for $98.99 new and $79 refurb.

I've been through a half dozen remotes & finally bought one of these. I really like it. Backlit, programmable, LCD display you can edit.

The forums @ RemoteCentral are complimentary & they're a pretty tough crowd.

Only other remote I'd consider is one of the big Sony's with the LCD (a little big for my taste).
