M2N E is a bad board. AM2 isn't good either. Rather get a dual core. Even if you do get AMD, stay off Asus AM2 boards as they are bad. Get a Seagate SATA II NCQ 7200.10 HDD.

asus am2 boards are bad? why?

factoring out the monitor and other non-essential peripherals at the moment, here's a little setup:

athlon x2 3800 65w: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16819103733
1gb of patriot ram: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16820220037
evga 7600gt: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16814130062
m2n-e (taken from you): http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16813131022

total: 160+115+112+93=480. course this isn't right for you because you probably want to upgrade some other things.

you could stick with the single core 3500 to shave off 65 dollars. or stick with your 640mb ram to save 115 (ddr prices are through the roof anyways). or downgrade the gfx i listed (to maybe an x800gto) to save perhaps about 20 (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16814131007). or get a cheaper mobo (like this: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16813130050) to save 20 dollars or so. all up to you.
