Video Card gurus:

I am running Win2K at the moment (considering XP upgrade...but that is another thread).

I am updating my very outdated Nvidia Riva TNT2 M64 to a less outdated Visiontek GeForce2 Ti 200. These cards appear to use the same Detonator XP drivers. Therefore, my question is:

"Do I still need to uninstall the current driver and if so, what is the best method -- or can just pop the new card in without a worry?"

Thanks in advance!

I would uninstall the current drivers. Change to 'Standard VGA.' Reboot and reinstall the drivers. That might be overkill, but I went from a Voodoo3 3000 to a V5 5500 then to a Kyro II and now to a Gf3 and have had perfect results.....same installation of W2k btw.

Technically, if you're using an NT platform and have the latest Detonator drivers (29.42), then it's just a matter of swapping vid cards, that's it. Now if you were using a win9x OS, then yes, it's best to reinstall fresh drivers.
