Advice Needed: Controller needed? SATA/PATA/Optical setup

Hello, hoping for some advice before I start spending $.

New PC MOBO has a single IDE port and two SATA ports (its an AM2 board). I have 2 IDE DVD drives, 1 PATA hard disk and 1 SATA hard disk. What would be the best way to get these components to work?

Am I correct in thinking that both optical drives on the same IDE channel will be an issue for direct rip/burn from one drive to the other?

If the ideal move is to purchase a controller card, should I avoid the boards that support both SATA and PATA drives? An example is this one:

Or, are the dedicated SATA or PATA cards more stable/reliable, etc?

thank you!

Welcome to the AT forums, Stook.

SATA/PATA combo card would be good, then if you get another drive later, you'll have a place to hook it up. I like to have each drive on its own channe. Also consider a drive converter (PATA to SATA) if necessary (less than 15. +sh).
