Hello everyone. I recently built a barton based system with a Shuttle MN31/N motherboard, but abondoned the PC due to the dreaded buzzing sound that was emitted by the green life savers on the board. I also didn't like the fact that my system was almost as big as a regular mid-tower. So, in order to salvage my system by getting a barebones system. My problem is that I can't decide whether to go with the 200N or SN41G2. Here are the things I like about the Biostar iDEQ 200N:

Supposedly quiet, improvements over shuttle's designs, supports Linux through StudioFun!, and the motherboard has more options for under/overclocking.

Here's what I like about the SN41G2:

Heatpipe technology, popular, and some other things I cannot think of right at the moment.

The only thing I am afraid of with the Shuttle SN41G2 is that I'll have the same buzzing motherboard problem, as discussed on these forums. These products are very similar to one another and so are their current prices. I just can't decide what I'd like and needed input from some people, especially Biostar iDEQ 200N users, about their experiences. Thank you for your time!

I really need quick replies too because I plan on purchasing this tomorrow!

Biostar is a good product, it produces a bit more heat than the Shuttle does though. Other than that I don't think you will notice a big difference between them. Biostar and Shuttle seem to be on par with each other when it comes to quality. Shuttle has huge brand loyalty with these little boxes though as they were the first to mass market them.

I built the biostar last week for a daughter. Took about 45 minutes to set it up and after loading the software it really flies. Has an AMD 2100+ running at 2700 and old GF3TI200 and a 56K modem.

It has a heatpipe on the HSF and it runs very cool.

Actually I have been putting off sending it to her since it is so much quiter than my aluminum tower setup.

I'm visiting with my fiances family this holiday weekend and brought my 200N along. Her Dad and brother are gamers and computer enthusiasts too. They both were really impressed with the look, sound and size. I even did a dual-boot RedHat9 linux demo for them on it hehehe. :)

I'm totally in love with this system. I've been dying for a product like this since I started messing with computers 6 years ago. I put off buying a shuttle because they weren't "just right". This thing is definitely "just right" and im glad to have it.
