OK I am using my 1st ever PC (mac user)+ my 1st ever 21" monitor. I am very very impressed by my AMD Athlon 1.33GHZ chip. I do design stuff. I am using Matrox G450 graphic card. My primary monitor is a 21" HPp1120 and the secondary is Sony 17" Multiscan 200sx. They are both running at a resolution of 1280x1024. (that is the maximum for the sony 17")The refresh rate is at 85hz..... On the 21" the image quality is reasonable but my eyes hurt looking at it. The colours seem slight washed out. Black is not jet black its black but not strong/dark enough compared to my 17" monitor. My question is what is an acceptable resolution to run a 21" monitor in ??? Is this eye ache due to the lower resolution ???? Under windows 2000 the screen area thing is at 2304 by 864. Damn my head is hurting :-( Any advice ????

If you eyes hurt, usualy the problem is the refresh rate of the monitor. Make sure it's set at 85Hz or more.
