he has a review site so i think i should listen to him
but im not sure...
do you guys have anything to add or change to his comments?

this is a direct quote of what he said
"are you gunna waste your money or are you gunna get the fx 53"

also
"for a good system you need 3 gigs of 'corsaer' xms ram"

"msi sucks"

"all review sites suck except for my site and tomshardwareguide"

"all mobo companies suck except for asus and shuttle"

"it dosent matter about dual channel on an fx 55...if you get 3 gigs of 'corsaer' xms, then you will have 16 channels"

my price range is up to 2500 and its for gaming

can you help me out
he owns the site www.fskspc.com

I am not going to even reply to your frineds comments without flaming him. Suffice to say that he is wrong on all counts.

Check out Anandtech's system building guides or the system building sticky they have on here. I used these resources and I have an excellent midrange comp.

Theres been several similar posts as this one, check out
http://forums.anandtech.com/me...1071&enterthread=y

If you want to go with 2GB over 1GB I suggest going with this - https://www.zipzoomfly.com/jsp...p?ProductCode=80097-48

Remember SLI is coming out sometime in December, so it may be wise to wait till then.
Personally I wouldn't spend a cent on SLI till the revision boards start coming out fixing the older problems on the boards we are expecting.
Plus, if you go with one of the systems mentioned in that post you won't need to upgrade for a long time to come.

Goodluck on your build!

No he doesn't. I suggest you tell us your budget and your needs for the computer and we will help you configure a system.

LOL, your friend owns fskspc... why are you using 'fskpc' as your screen name?

In any case, i'd get a amd 3500+ , crucial ballistix 1 gig (2x512mb), geforce 6800gt to start...add your HD, dvd etc. Good luck.

The test I used was a touch test... I would run varoius processor stressful tests and touch the heatsink of the SkiveStream III to see if it was hot, warm, or cool to the touch.

LMAO LMAO LMAO

He's wrong. The Athlon FX and Pentium 4 EE chips are both a waste of money. For about $260, you can get an Athlon 64 3500+, or you can pay $560 for an FX 53. Hmmmm...I dunno about you, but I really don't think a 10-15% performance difference is worth over double the price. If I'm going to pay 215%, I'd better be getting 215% more performance.

3gb's is insane. Corsair is good, but it's not the only good brand. Crucial Ballistix, Kingston HyperX, and OCZ's high end stuff are all nice. No one needs 3gb's for gaming. I can't even use up 1gb. I've tried. The highest RAM usage I've seen since I upgraded to 1gb this past summer: ~725mb's (according to Windows Task Manager). I really can't see a reason to even have 2gb's right now, much less 3. And what kind of a number is 3? Usually when the market moves the standard amount of RAM up to the next level, we don't go half-way. We double the previous standard. Therefore, 512mb's ---> 1gb ---> 2gb's ---> 4gb's....

MSI sucks sometimes. Not all the time. They mike good video cards. They have excellent motherboards if you're lucky. I've only been lucky 1 out of 3 times though. I have a flawless MSI K7N2G-L downstairs, but I also had a faulty MSI K7N2-L and an iffy MSI K7T266 Pro.

Asus and Shuttle are not the only good brands. I'm running an Asus board right now. I've used many Asus motherboards. They're good. But so is Abit, and many other brands. I even have a perfect ECS KS75A (a $20 socket A mobo)

His site does in fact suck.

Why wouldn't you go dual channel? There's no reason not to. It improves performance (slightly), and it doesn't cost extra; instead of buying one 1gb stick, you'd buy two 512mb sticks, which are about the same price.

Edit: WOW. I took a more in depth gander at that site. How old is that kid? 15? I've never seen such a poor review. I'd be ashamed to own that.

k ill try to hit each one-
fx-53---first of all, the faster processor out now is the fx-55. secondly, its a complete waste of money. for around half the price, you can get an athlon 64 3800+, with comparable speeds. personally, i think anything faster than a 3400+ is overkill. youll be very happy even with a 3000+.
3gigs of corsair ram--- youll only see any improvement with 3 gigs of ram if you play massively multiplayer online rpgs. anything else, 1.5 gigs is overkill. and cheapo value ram will be fine, unless you plan to overclock.
msi sucks--- ive heard some bad reviews, mostly good reviews. this guy doesnt know anything.
all review sites suck--- ok, since hes a complete moron, his sucks. toms hardware is ok, but i prefer anandtech's reviews and site layout.
asus and shuttle--- thats absolute bs. read anandtech's reviews.
dual channel--- just stop listening to him. 16 channels? ask him to define channel for you.;)

Dude, there are good price guides here. It ranges from entry level-mid level- high end level systems. It should give you a good idea what to look for in building a system depending on your budget and needs.

Oh, btw you 'friend' is a moron. lol
