Advice for a Sound System?

Hey all,

Im looking at investing in a sound system. Currently Im using the onboard sound on the mobo and a creative inspire t3000 (lol i know...). Anywho does anyone have any advice on: soundcard, sub, speakers.

The soundcard/sub/speakers is just for listening to music. Can anyone recommend me a low/mid/high system (for comparison sake) or which parts are more important than others?

Just music? What's your budget?

buy speakers before soundcard.
unless you have really garbage onboard audio the speakers are most likely the limiting factor.

my bad, thx for the input, Ill repost in the audio/video section thx! Oh and I was thinking of a 300-400 budget for this, but i dont know what to really expect.
