Advice for a new PC build config

Hey guys, my first post here.. I'm planning to buy the parts to build my own PC this time instead of going my usual route of buying a pre-built Dell. I have done some limited research on compatible parts and the best of each brand and here are the parts I currently plan to order:

CPU - Intel Core i7-950 Bloomfield 3.06GHz http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16819115211

MB - ASRock X58 Extreme LGA 1366 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16813157163

RAM - OCZ Platinum 4GB (2 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 2000 (PC3 16000) http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16820227569

GPU - Palit GeForce GTX 460 Sonic Platinum Overclocking Edition 1GB 256-bit GDDR5 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814261076

PSU - CORSAIR CMPSU-650TX 650W ATX12V / EPS12V http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16817139005

HDD - Western Digital Caviar Black 640GB 7200 RPM 64MB Cache SATA 6.0Gb/s http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16822136544

Case - Cooler Master Elite 334 nVidia Case http://www.compusa.com/applications/...638&CatId=1509

I'm knowledgeable to enough to understand most of what I need to do to build this from scratch. I plan to buy all my parts locally in USA and from Newegg.com and my budget is no more than $1200. For brand preference, I would prefer an Intel CPU and an nVidia GPU. Everything else can be anything. I'll overclock the system if it is easy and doable. I plan to build this PC within the next week. My main use for the PC will be gaming, with such games as Starcraft II, World of Warcraft: Cataclysm, Civilization V, Fallout: New Vegas, etc etc - basically the latest games. Mainly used for WoW though. My planned resolution is 1920x1080. Any suggestion on better parts than these, or ones that perform the same but are cheaper.. I would love to know. Thanks guys!

I would suggest an SSD of some sort, given the money you're spending. Also, if you don't already have Windows lined up (and even if you do) make sure you go for a 64bit OS.

Not sure if that OCZ RAM (@1.65V) is going to play nice with your setup. Someone with more knowledge about such things should be able to tell you. Might want to consider 6GB as well since your chipset is triple-channel.

I second the SSD suggestion.

An i5-760 and P55 motherboard would be ideal for your intended usage. Any particular reason why you are going the more expensive socket1366 (X58) route?
