Hello

I used to like to game something like 5 years ago. I have an i5 2500k and a gtx770 GPU, very old now! 8gb ram and an old HD. My new passion is photography and this computer cannot handle lightroom properly. I'd like something that could handle it, but dont want to build it myself. Hopefully something capable to game if i decide to once more - but i know lightroom does benefit from a good GPU.

It seems to me i require for this:
- at least a modern i5 processor
- at least 16gb RAM
- Decent HD but also an SSD too
- Decent GPU
- Good quality monitor ideally a good size

However, i can't find one off the shelf that seems ok. I also cant decide between a desktop tower, or one of the all in one systems ive seen.

I'm based in the UK. Does anyone know any good suppliers that could provide something? Or would I be better to choose a custom build online for delivery? In this case, could someone recommend me a decent modern spec'd PC?

Many thanks!

I wouldn't get an All-In-One, I would custom-build a tower, or get a builder to do it if you didn't want to build it yourself. Those OEM branded AIOs, use the lowest-grade CPUs and HDDs, and mostly just give you a big screen, sometimes a touch-screen. But the rest of the components are usually really entry-level (garbage). Except for possibly one of those fancy Macs, but I'm not a Mac person.

I too am not a mac person. I would want a windows PC, preferably none touch screen. I've seen you can get smaller form factor desktop PC's, but I suspect that comes at a compromise.

I think then I should choose the components from an online builder. Would anyone be able to recommend a good build? My knowledge of things around the 2500k period was fantastic -now i've no idea.

Sounds like you want a workstation line, such as a Dell Precision or equivalent from other vendors.
