Hi to all,
I need a good successor for my Sapphire ATi Radeon HD 7700 1Gb.
For my needs it was a good card but i have some money to spend (low for real).
With my low budget (100€/72£/110$) I was attracted by the R7 260x but on some other forum tell me to forget about it 'cause that card don't worth the money and that a R9 270x was better.

I know that an R9 was better but I dont have that money :(

So I found out another 2 card that can be worth buying:
GeForce 660Ti and HD 7870. (2gb both)

What do you think of this card? is worth buying? what of that two?
I always be an ATi enthusiastic so my heart go with the 7870 but the 660 Ti cost a little less on the second hand market.

thank u in advance

EDIT: my PSU is an enermax 450W

which 7700 ?

If it's a 7790, then a 260X is pretty much the same thing.
I would'nt change for less than a 7970 tin that case, even if the 7870 is faster than what you have, it's not faster enough to throw so much money imho.

The 660Ti was about as fast as the 7870 when the cards came.
Given how drivers made the radeons faster compared to kepler now, it's probably even less interesting.

GTX 960 4GB card.

It supports Direct3D12 feature level 12_1, supports 4K H.264 decoding, supports 4K HEVC decoding and G-Sync variable refresh rate for gaming.

It's faster than any Pitcairn/Curacao card that doesn't support the above features and you don't have to change your PSU because of the power efficiency of Maxwell 2 architecture.

Your budget restricts you quite a bit. Anyway, the 660Ti and 7870 are pretty close in performance so I would buy the cheapest of the two especially if your current card is a 7770. You'll see almost double the performance either way.

this is from when the 7870 already had 1.5 years of drivers optimization.

http://tpucdn.com/reviews/NVIDIA/GeForce_GTX_760/images/perfrel_1920.gif

660 ti = 95% of the 760, 7870 = 82%.
not a huge difference and in some games the 7870 might be faster, but I fail to see them as totally equal or the 7870 as superior.

also the nvidia card should be a lot more efficient in terms of CPU bottleneck.

many benchmark or review states that 660 ti seems faster than 7870...but in some cases i saw videos in wich 7870 have a more stable frame rate.
in some other videos i saw 660ti totaly crap with Shadow of Mordor at high setting...
phsycs is a good things but it really worth a video card? except for borderlands 2?
