I have no ideas why I am making a post here but I highly recommand the GeForce 4 Ti4200 to those people who haven't upgrade their pc yet.

First, I really feel like the price is fair, which the new product line--Geforce FX--, the price may drop down to $120-150.

Fair price doesn't really mean Ti4200 is a low quality product. The specifications of the Ti4200 are comfortable for those student-gamer, enough for gaming, enough for entertaining, and enough for educating.

I hope ya'll will like the GeForce 4 Ti4200, and stop comparing it w/ like ATI Radeon 9700 Pro or 9800 pro, because what's the point of having a too powerful card which you don't require that much for a game? Let's face it, it is just a game! Don't indulge in a game! With a more than 20GB bandwidth, it will drive you crazy!

I can tell you're obviously running games at 1024x768 with no AA/AF, or little of them. Yes it is a nice card, but it just can't do what I(and other people) want it to do - give the best eye-candy.

I have a Ti4400 and it's able to run every game with max detail, 1280x1024, in some cases with AA and AF. Really, I think the point he is making is that these cards CAN handle anything out today and for a while in the future, albeit without the unnecessary extras. It may be a little hard for you people to understand, but some people really don't need 16+xAF and 8+xAA...etc...

its not hard to understand.
1 person can do without, 1 person can't.
easy. I just wan't my games with AA/AF, since jaggies ruin most games for me.
once again some people don't even notice them.

I agree comparing to a 9700 Pro, etc. is ridiculous. Right now at $120-$125, its a decent upgrade. Why only decent? While you can debate/argue about DX8.1 vs. DX9...yada, yada, yada....people forget that DX whatever is a SET of standards. While a specific game may NOT be DX XYZ compatable, it still may contain elements of this standard that a graphics cards may have trouble handling, or run slowly.

Splinter Cell is one example. Its a newer game, developed with newer methodologies and using newer technology (whatever its DX compatablity). This game runs really slowly on older Ti based cards. Just something to keep in mind. If you are someone who keeps their cards for a long time, buying something that is already a bit dated, can bite you in the backside fairly quickly. Just my $.02
