I'm looking to by an adventure game for a friend. Since I don't play them, I have no idea which games are good or even what's available.

My friend really liked Myst and I have read great review for Syberia. Any suggestions?

Im playing Syberia now...its the only adventure game Ive ever played so I cant compare it....but I would recommend it to someone looking for this style of game. Its a pleasure to look at and the story is well told and entertaining so far (maybe a bit slow). The voice acting is top notch and it definitly gets my vote for one of the more artistic games Ive played.

So if you can pick this game up for $20......I say try it out....
 
Grim Fandango from Lucasarts is old now but a classic. The Longest Journey is one I haven't played but it won all kinds of awards.
