Advantages of using Zone Edit vs. Godaddy's url redirection?

What are the advantages of using zoneedit vs. using Godaddy's url redirection?

If I am thinking right could I not just used godaddy's url redirection to point to http://123.45.678.90

(just an example IP address). I've got a static IP.

I have never tried godaddy's service, but I have had zoneedit for at least a year now and I have had no problems. One thing I do like about zoneedit is the extra services they offer for a small fee. Right now I use there mail backup service in case my ISP goes down.

That is one of the reasons why I decided to leave Zone Edit. All of these hidden fees and gotchas that started costing me. If you go over a certian number of queries then boom, they charge.
If you want some extra services they charge a lot!

I don't know, I was very happy with their service and if you are just a hobby user that needs free dns then that is the place for you.

I needed to save some money so I moved everything to http://www.dnsmadeeasy.com

So far, no problems and I'm saving a bunch over the Zone Edit fees.

But to answer the original question. I have found that using the redirection service at Zone Edit (or DNS Made Easy) actually replicate faster. So if you make a change it is carried over pretty much right away.

With GoDaddy there seems to be a larger lag. Which isn't at all bad if you are not going to make changes that often.

Look at this page there is inside in the middle of the page a link to a DNS Services table that shows the "+" and "-" of most of these services.

The "Dady" was a good deal when others were very expensive.

Right now differences between such services might be $5 for a year.
