So besides the mouse and keyboard, what advantages does the PC offer up over the console?
Why do you game on the PC instead of on the console?
Why do you game on the PC instead of on the console?
The ability to play older games without the need for asshole console devs to include backwards compatibility on their consoles.Originally posted by: schneiderguy
Cheaper games
On average more mature online playerbase
MODS!!!
Better games, and games that you wont find on consoles (flight simulators, racing simulators, RTS's, etc.)
Better graphics
Better online play (nothing consoles have can match 64 player BF2 )
MMO's

My TV Sucks ( 27" Sony Wega Trinitron versus the Dell 2001FP on my PC)
No console ports of the games that I play most of the time
I can only use a keyboard / mouse... maybe a joystick or a steering wheel for flight / racing games, console controllers are out of the question
Far superior resolutions / graphics on the PC
Far larger online experience on the PC
I do not have to toss the entire device when I upgrade my PC
A single PC can be used for media center tasks, software development , office activities, and gaming
Player made / third party mods (Elder Scrolls series anyone?) are nonexistent for the most part on consoles.
Continued support of games through patches (until recently, patching console games did not happen)
I will take the Red Orchestra community over the halo xbox live community anyday.
No changing CDs / DVDs between games on the PC (Alcohol 52% freeware edition to the rescue)
I can fix a PC if it breaks, which rarely happens because I only put high quality components inside it.
That comment was more for the manufacturers. The game devs can be assholes too.Originally posted by: Ichigo

Why attack console developers? What about the PC developers who release buggy games that don't work until a patch released after retail? I... just don't get the potshot at console developers who aren't even responsible for backwards compatibility on Xbox. isgust;
Wii Guitar Hero III owners need new disc to fix mono issue
For a game so intensely focussed on music, the Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock shipped for Wii with a rather unfortunate, but critical flaw. Although the first entry of the franchise on Wii advertises that it supports stereo sound output, with additional provisions made specifically for Dolby Pro Logic II, gamers quickly discovered that game only sends a monaural signal.
Unfortunately, such a fix will not be a simple issue of downloading a patch.
