I notice that alot of people mention the 8 phase power design as an advantage of the asus a8n32 motherboard. I was wondering if anyone could explain exactly what this does and what the advantages are? Thanks, Rob

Marketing BS. I've seen 3 phase boards that will run north of 300MHz FSB with absolute stability.

Explains it somewhat there ^

Interestingly enough, the 8-phase power doesn't actually kick in unless you enable the over voltage option. (Uses just 4-phase normally)

So i'm running 1.285 + over voltage (0.2V) rather than 1.485V IIRC, & that seems to give a relatively stable vcore, according to software anyway.

Ocean and boat! More bells and whistles for noobs. Another reason why I never purchase an Asus board. 2x price premium for a 3% boost in performance.

My $35 ECS board runs at 280MHz FSB with 1.6Vcore. Oh yes, 3 phase circuit!
