Just thought I'd let others know about this.;)

I didn't order any myself because I'm watching my "budget" now. So couldn't give any feedback on this item, but I've never had any probs orderering from Overstock.

I bought this nearly 5 years ago for around $100. They were great for sports games, and I liked being able to map the buttons to keypresses for emulators. Seems like I started having some driver problems and ended up switching to an Interact Hammerhead FX.

I bought this 2 years ago on egay for $20 (they usually ends around 15-20).
Then I bought another (gave my old one to my bro) for $10(shipping already included) again from egay.

They work pretty nicely but my thumb got bubbles after playing NHL2001 with it.
I don't know if they sell it on egay anymore, but worth a check.

I was gonna jump on this but it's still reliant on the GrIP system, which Gravis has stopped supporting a while ago (if you'll notice, they don't even mention this product anymore on their website). While the coolness factor is definitely something to consider (the hub just looks plain neat), I'll stick with my 3 USB gamepads (2 Xterminators and a Sidewinder Freestyle Pro; USB is mainly the reason Gravis doesn't support GrIP anymore). These aren't the most ergonomic controllers in the world, but like mentioned, $5 per controller ain't bad.

I've been using these game pads for about 4 years now--I have 4 sets of them (on different computers). The drivers are a pain to setup with the newer versions of directx--you really need to know what you are doing to get them to work. But once you get them working, I wouldn't trade'em for anything! Having the three buttons side by side like that makes playing sports games MUCH easier. I tried to play NHL 2001 on a computer with a gamepad pro and got my ass kicked like 6-2--it was much harder to play (I normally win like 10-3). Highly recommended if you can get them to work! :> If you can't, sell them to me!

Heh, did you notice the date on that document? 11/96. ;) Gravis hasn't been updating since then. In addition, if you're using Win2k, you're pretty much unable to use it. If you're playing under 98, they should work. Edit: I think WinMe is also out of the question, since GrIP relies on DOS, but don't quote me on that, I'm not completely sure.

Just a note here that they came but I returned them after my friend decided that he didn't want the video capture card (Connectix Quickclip), which had allowed me to use a $20 off coupon. The pads and port were actually made by NEC, which is the only logo on the things. I would've kept them except for that glitch.

(Why didn't I keep it and pay $20? Well, I've converted to Win2k now so the only reason I would use this is for my Win98 setup that I seldomly use, but if you don't plan on upgrading your OS then this would be a hot deal.)
