Advanced Driving Schools

Anyone ever attended an advanced driving school like those offered by some BMW clubs? If so, what were your impressions? How much did you pay/was it worth it?

I've never done one myself, but I've thought about it. I've seen them practicing at an old airfield, too. IMHO you should go for it--it teaches car control well beyond the kindergarten-level skills you need to get an American driver's license. I doubt they teach anything you couldn't find out yourself from a combination of internet research, trial and error in an old parking lot and abandoned highways, and talking to friends, but the school will be faster, easier, and less likely to net you unfavorable attention from the cops.
