Advanced DNS setup

my router has an option for "Advanced DNS Services" and I was curious what it's for... it looks like a security option to stop phising...

is something like this a good idea to setup and use?

Thanks,

There is a reason in keeping the name and model number of the Router a secret?

A screenshot of the page in question might be helpful as well. Without the brand and model of the router or a picture of the page, we can only guess at what the manufacturer might have put there...

As far as I can tell, D-Link routers are the only one offering "Advanced DNS Services". But, as noted, the make/model of your router would help a lot.

D-Link seems to have put some Phishing protection there, using a service from "Best Path Networks", as well as a setup for OpenDNS.

maybe it is a cloud based websense add-on.

i know my hp tippingpoint has reputation mode where it has a list of naughty ip's it will block for you.

"Advanced DNS is a free security option that provides Anti-Phishing to protect your Internet connection from fraud and navigation improvements such as auto-correction of common URL typos."

Automatically adds 204.194.232.200 as primary DNS and 204.194.234.200 as secondary.

IMHO it is probably is some DLink DNS filtering service like OpenDNS.

Edit:
From the manual - "Advanced Domanin Name System (DNS) services enhances your internet performance by getting you the information and web pages you are looking for faster and more reliably. Additionally, it improves your overall Internet experience by correcting many common typo mistakes automatically, taking you where you intended to go and saving you valuable time.
