Does anyone know how to use the PBP option to run 2x840x1050 or change the aspect ratio of PIP so I can play GCN at 4:3?

I tried calling Dell tech support after being unable to make things work myself by forcing the resolution with Powerstrip and reading my manual, but the folks in India had never seen my monitor before, let alone actually used one, so the help was... well Michael Dell is certainly getting his money's worth.

I don't know what you're talking about. You want to run your gamcube in picture in picture mode with a PBP? what's a PBP?

meh, i have the 2405fpw and running PBP isnt that good. I mean it is nice to a degree but when you run picture by picture it shrinks the image to aspect so both inputs will be small on the screen

EDIT: with my 24" screen both screens have an 11" diagonal as an FYI runing in PBP

Yes, that is the default. Given that this is an enthusiast forum I was hoping we could begin discussion on how to work around the default settings.

I guess I will just go over to HardOCP. That forum seems to be more technically inclined.

im pretty sure you cannot change the aspect ratio, the box sizes are fixed. you can change the scaling mode within those windows though

and pbp is not x1050 it uses much less screen than that.

JimZero, I'm also looking for similar information. If you can find a feature discussion somewhere else, please post back here with the link. Dell's manual/guides aren't much. Like I heard someone say you can't unscale the image with DVI, although I know that you can, but I'm wondering if the same is a possibility with the component/s-video inputs.

I'm surprised there is no discussion or information on this!

And lame that PBP leaves so much black space on the top and bottom. I guess 840x1050 would look pretty effed up though.

Well I ran my desktop at 840x1050 with powerstrip and black borders to test it. The workspace is basically the same as if you rotate the monitor. Once I set it to do PBP though it stretched the 840x1050 into 16:10 and it was horrid.
