Not all deals are great, though: e.g. Noir wall scroll sells for $6 elsewhere, but Excel Saga scroll is cheaper than other places.. YMMV of course

Good find, while individual DVDs are still pretty expensive, some of the boxsets are really nicely priced.

They will charge up front and it might take weeks to receive your order.

On top of that they might slash your cases, punch a hole through it, or deface them in some other ways. Could be used or returns.

is the platinum series the remastered version with 5.1 sound and improved tonal quality with added scenes? i have the older version in code1 and newer one in code3. needless to say, there is no comparison between the two. only a fool would get the ugglier looking one 🙂

Spectral Force <- now, this is one of the crappiest anime i ever laid my eyes on, ugh 😱

Noir and Nadesico are both really good series imo. i just picked up crying freeman and Aquarian age among other things.

as for the eva boxset, i think you should be able to find better deals on them. just last x-mas rightstuf was blowing them out for $20? or $30, can't remember but it was cheap!
 
people who get in on this deal, please post findings and results
have heard said (in the past) that some of the dvd's were not new (not even shrinkwrapped/scratched)
would buy some if adv has changed their ways

Yes. The entire release has been visually cleaned up frame by frame. It's like seeing it for the first time, there's no comparison. The platinum hasn't been released as a box set (yet). The older boxes are old inventory being dumped.
