Adult Swim - FLCL

on Cartoon Network. What the heck is FLCL? It was on 12:00-12:30AM last night and it just blew my mind. The animation was wonderful, artsy and mesmerizing but I couldn't exactly figure out what was going on. I remember some kid growing cat's ears and trying to avoid performing in some school play. Maybe that's not the point because the visuals were candy.

TV last night was quite good:

11-11:30 - The Simpsons (Bart and Lisa get competitive)
11:30-12:00 - The Family Guy (family gets the real TV treatment)
12-12:30 - FLCL (whatever, looks very pretty!)

it's pronounced "Furi-Kuri" other than that, I didn't like it much, couldn't sit past the first 5-10 mins of episode 1. I believe the entire series is only 6 episodes long anyway.

After catching a couple episodes on Cartoon Network I decided to buy the whole series on DVD.

I've seen a few ep's, but it makes no sense to me. Maybe that is part of the charm?

Do any of those shows make any sense? Seems like every one I watch is just 30 seconds of random events that are totally unconnected.

I blew my money on goldenboy dvd instead of this anime.

FLCL is definitely bizarre, but in good way. I was confused after the first episode I watched (#3) but after seeing a couple more the plot lines started to make a lot more sense. I got totally hooked on the show.

It's also beautifully animated and the soundtrack rocks.

I'd love to get the 3rd DVD with the Limited Edition box and booklet, but the only place I've been able to find the LE version is on Ebay and they always seem to go for at least $50. 🙁

wait a sec, where's Futurama? I haven't seen Adult Swim in about two weeks, so maybe the roster changed, but if they took of futurama....

Family Guy is on at 11:00 and Futurama at 11:30.
