I picked up one of those D600s a bout 5 weeks ago but no cheap mobo to use with it. Guess I don't have any excuses now! Just gotta get a powersupply a piece of plywood and somewhere to put it!
/0 1 gig is about the norm from what I have seen.. I am a total newbie with the Duron, so I dont claim to know anything.. but my first I got the Asus A7V . that I saw recommended .. it ran 1 gig without a problem and I was very happy.. $160 MB $40 CPU .. I wanted to get another but my bank account doesnt like $150+ MBs .. OB suggested I look at the Epox.. I did ..and now I am happy and have joined the Duron a week club..
(sidenote I have found one so far that wouldnt do 1G but luckily was able to swap it out)
I am a Duron newbie.. OB is the man with the plan ; )
Where are you getting your durons? I got an Epox 8KTA+ and a 650 duron last week but I was only able to hit 900mhz. If you know where to get a newer week duron 600, let me know cause I really want to hit 1ghz.
spencer I got mine from iComPz.com, simply because they were/are the lowest on PriceWatch.. I just noticed their price has gone up a lot too, but they are still the lowest ... I have from week 27-31 .. as I said above I am just a newbie with the AMD chips and have no real knowledge and only limited experience
I wish we could maintain some hardware threads for distributed because
we do have a lot of knowledgeable(sp) people
Adul glad you decided to come in out of the cold ; )
tommorrow check your stats both here and here and see if the numbers are a little closer than they are right now, if not Dnet may have to go back to the drawing board ; )
