ADSL Router question

Mora

Junior Member
Does anyone of an ADLS router Wi-Fi product (i don't care about the speed really), that can SPECIFICALLY ban all IP addresses
other than those approved by the main pc.

Currently all i've seen is the ability to ban various words from the URL.

OR....

does anyone know some software that does this, and can work over a Wi-Fi product (ie; allow www.disney.com from the main pc,)

Cheers

Steve

Are you trying to limit website access through your router? You could install some babysitter software on the other computer(s) that limits what kinds of websites are allowed.

I think that the SpeedStream2624 can do it, check the manual at the Speedstream Site.

Yes, i want to set up a router on my main ADSL PC downstairs, set up 2 WI-Fi connections upstairs. and then control exactly what sites these two pc's can goto.

A much better idea than all these net-nanny products etc. ie: block all the net apart from pre-approved sites. I've been to various web filtering software sites, and none appear to do this.

Lots of routers have this ability, some via web controls, but none has the ability to block all, apart from those specified by the admin.

I will check this one suggested out though.. Thanks...

I have the Netgear BEFW11S4 and I think I can block certain sites or keywords.

EDIT: Nevermind. I couldn't find it in the config menu... 😱
