ADSL Microfilters...quicky

just picked up a new net gear ADSL Modem/Router to replace my D-Link 504T since i think it was borked to hell, kept thinking it was 1970, kept dropping the connection

anyway since im not sure i wanna keep this Netgear just yet, is it fine to use this router with the microfilter we used with the D-link? or is it best to use the microfilter NETGEAR supply?

The "microfilters" are used on all of the regular phones and fax machines, and not on the DSL line going to the DSL modem -> router -> PC.
There shouldn't be any difference between the different brands of microfilters.
