ADSL connection sharing w/ router - connecting?

Ok...I'll be using a combined ADSL Modem/Router that has 4 10/100Mbps ports to connect to the net. Two computers will be linked to the Ethernet ports. How will connecting to the net be managed?

Surely both machines have the facility to dial up the connection and disconnect? Won't this create conflicts? Or have I missed something?

Yeah, you missed paying attention to the word Router.

That what the Router is doing. It Routes the connection to the appropriate computer.

Dial? You do not need to Dial. The Router will keep your PPPOE alive independent from the computers.

If your modem does not include these capacities you will have to buy a Cable/DSL Router.
