I have NO idea how I've been infected with this. I haven't installed anything on this machine in months -- this is my "server" at home (Windows 10) that just runs some processes throughout the day.

Regardless, I can NOT get this crap off my machine. It only seems to be in Google Chrome as IE does not have any of these advertisements. In fact, it's carried over from my home PC (Chrome) to my work PC (Chrome). Frack. Must be a chrome extension that is messing it up.

HELP

I actually ran both. THEN I realized it was a Chrome extension that was causing the issues. Deactivated that extension and all is better. Went to the extension's page and lots of people posting in reviews (today's date) that it's been infected. All clear going forward.
Thanks!

Ah, sometimes for those the Avast browser cleaner comes in handy because it will even look at hidden IE add-ons along with chrome and FF extensions. Glad its sorted out. If it was a checkbox during an installation you missed or something, Unchecky is a neat tool that sits in the background and attempts to identify these checkboxes then does its name good :)

no checkbox or anything -- extension has been installed for years.
Must have updated and just included that crap.
Regardless, it's gone. Just miss the extension now :(
