No it's not the same thing. Read your link again:


Führer (help·info) (Fuehrer when the ü-umlaut is not used, but never Fuhrer) is a noun meaning "leader" in the German language.

You folks should stop refering to Wikipedia as surce of reliable information. Here's the skinny for the school kid:

Hitler was refered to as Fuhrer (the leader) of the NSDAP before being appointed chancellor. After president Hindenburg died Hitler dissolved presidency and became known as the Fuhrer of german people.
