Adobe Spying???

I heard that everytime you use Photoshop 7, it broadcasts your serial number and IP address to Adobe. Is this true?

Sounds like an urban legend. If they knew what they were talking about, they would know that you don't broadcast to one computer.(i.e Adobe) Thats called unicast.

What actually happens is that Photoshop attempts to connect to the Adobe servers to check for updates to the software. You can probably turn this off. You can also set up a firewall to prevent Photoshop from connecting to the internet at all. Of course, if you have a legal copy, this shouldn't bother you too much...

There is hardly any programs which don't try to get internet access when they are launched these days. Install a software firewall and see.
