I tried many different pdf readers and do know they sometimes have trouble opening some at times. Just depends on where you get them.
 
never used it, but i use PDFXViewer for viewing my pdfs. haven't been able to find a pdf i couldn't open yet.
 
I've been using Foxit for a long time now. I don't open a ton of PDFs, but so far Foxit's never failed me.
 
Foxit does the job for me, great Mozilla plugin as well, near-instant load when clicking on a PDF in Firefox. But I'll give this a shot out of curiosity.
