adobe premiere noob question

😕Hi, I'm trying to figure this new program out.

When I click the vertical cursor at the bottom I expect the video in the upper right box to play the part I'm clicking on.........but it just keeps on going with whatever it was on. If I start it up from scratch and play, it will play. But if I hit stop, and then move the cursor back, hit play again, the video keeps playing where it was.

Maybe my PC is underpowered? but its a 3gig cpu, 1 gig ram

Thanks

Thanks for responding

I do move the cursor... moved it all over everywhere... it doesn't stay in sync with the cursor

I'm thinking my computer is too slow... or the clip is too big... about 1 gig

I havn't spent much time with premiere. But what I DO know is it LOOOOVES RAM, the more you can give it the better.

That may not be what is giving you problems though. Like I said, I have hardly used it.

You may get a better answer in software.

Your system sounds like it can handle Premiere. I do not use it, so cannot offer any assistances. Try the Premiere forums connected to Adobe's site for the best support.

There is also a Premiere area at Dvinfo Net in the Communities section. But try Adobe first.

does the red line position where you click, because that is what determines where the video will play at. try clicking just below the timelinebar. but before the video area.
