Adobe Premier Pro problem

I have a project in Adobe Premier Pro 1.5 that's basically a series of video clips followed by a series of jpegs which crossfade. There's music playing in the background. For some reason, after I export the project, at the end of the sequence the music get static-y. If I let it fade out without there being a final jpeg to accompany it, there's no static. This makes no sense. Any suggestions? Doubt I'll get much help on this but it's worth a shot.
