system: XP1700, 512MB, Win XP pro w/SP2, panda antivirus
I recently reformatted and loaded a WindowsXP SP2. I also loaded Adobe reader (v6.02, most recent update), so I can view pdf files. Not sure what happened since the new load (it worked OK for a while), but now when I try to view a pdf in standalone or in a browser window, it maxes out the CPU load (95-99%) and consistently eats ~ 20MB of memory.
There's plenty of spare memory, and the CPU is not running anything major.
There doesn't appear to be any abnormal processes running.
Any ideas WTF is going on?
EDIT
anda was detecting ADMplugin.apl as potentially infected, and placing it in the quarantine. Removing the file and placing it back in it's original folder solved the problem
