As the title states, I am thinking bout buying some software, and am wondering if this is good for building a DVD from scratch, or not. I have made a few slide shows with music from Nero, but I need more options.
Thanks for looking, and any input.

DVD Encore is insane! It's to the point of being too complicated. I use Ulead DVD Workshop 2.0 to create my DVDs from scratch. And when I'm done, it looks pro as hell. I wish I could give you a sample, but they are ~5GB in size. I like DVD Workshop because it gives me alot of options to work with but it is very intuitive at the same time.

One more vote for DVD Workshop 2.0... this coming from someone who'se been a staunch advocate of DVD-Lab and DVD-Lab pro for quite a while. I must say Ulead has a winner on their hands, there's no limit to what that software can do.

I dunno....I actually quite like Encore. Sure its pretty awkward to get used to at first but watch a couple of the short video tutorials on Adobes site and you'll be up to speed in no time and creating great results. You also need Photoshop to get the most out of it though.

No, you are correct, tho it is rather limited as to extra things 1 can do with it.

Ulead is excellent - subtitles, multiple audio tracks (think "commentary" over any video you make into a DVD...), quick and efficient, but very creative menu-creating procedure etc.
