This is older but may be of some value to some of you.

(Edit: It's dead and wasn't really a giveaway as it turns out.)

Apparently this isn't a giveaway, i.e. Adobe's not giving it out for free but rather it's for CS2 users affected by the removal of the CS2 activation servers. As such I'm going to close this thread as it is not actually free.

LOL.... apparently they are NOT giving away CS2, but merely posted the info for people who have legitimately purchased CS2 and suddenly had to deal with the missing activation servers Adobe shut down December 15.

In other words, the viral "marketing campaign" is simply the result of somebody at Adobe screwing up.

Shame.... it's always good marketing to give away product. I gave away a bunch of copies of my Cat Toy app when I originally released it on webOS, and got decent (for webOS tablets) sales; sadly, Google and Amazon do not provide for "promotional giveaways" like Palm does, so I'm having a harder time finding a good marketing angle for my Android release of the Cat Toy app.

OK.... they put the download and key page back up.

Sounds like they are going to run with it as a marketing ploy, instead of getting uptight about it.

It's alive. Downloaded and Installed.

Instructions:

1. Right-click each file (.exe file)
2. Select Properties then go to the Compatibility tab.
3. Put a check on the “Run this program in compatibility mode for” then select the previous OS which do you think it worked. {{{ select Windows XP with Service Pack 3 }}}
4. Then under Privilege Level, place a check on “Run this program as administrator”
5. Click Apply then OK.

Click disk 2 - but change the Save Files in folder destination to:
C:\Creative Suite CS2\Adobe Creative Suite 2.0\

If it says Unable to create the specified output folder! - just click OK

Click Next

---------------------
Click Disk 3 - making sure the address is C:\Creative Suite CS2

Click Next

--------------

Click Extra's - C:\Creative Suite CS2\CS_2.0_WWE_Extras_2

Click Next

--------------

Now Click Disk 1 - Destination folder - C:\Creative Suite CS2
{{{{It will launch the installer when it is done.}}}}

Ignore Quicktime 6 message
Accept Agreement
Enter Serial - 1130-1414-7569-4457-6613-5551
Now you need to change the location as C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe is not valid
Change it to C:\Progra~2\Adobe

If the next button stays greyed out, click back then go forward with the next button.

Have fun.

I see you have to sign up to download. If one does, does the download work now? And do the above instructions work to get this to install? This version is quite dated, but might be fun to play with. Just wondering if one goes through all the effort, if it will work.

Just logged in and they are available. It's dated but CS2 is still better then most photo software and it helps the kids build their Photoshop skills.
