Adobe Acrobat GURUS please!!!

Hey all,

Just a quick question.

I realize that one of the major selling point with .pdf files is that your document is protected, un-editable. With that being said, here at work the company that made one of our machines sent us the AutoCAD prints of the machine in .pdf format. Now when we add something to the machine, and we need to change the CAD drawings, we can't, because its in .pdf. I don't have Acrobat here at work, but do any of you know of a way to convert pdf files back into their original format, in this case .dwg.

I don't think that is possible. I've only been able to do simple editing within Acrobat, like modifying text. Basically when they created the pdf, they probably just chose Acrobat as the printer output and printed to it. Acrobat wouldnt be able to reverse engineer that to the original file format, it's basically a secure print driver. You'll need to get the original files from the manufacturer.

i dont know

but I do know youcan edit pdf files. there is a tool that can convert it into a word doc. but I don't know anything about .dwg format.

PDF to DWG work around 🙂

You can edit a PDF in Adobe Illustrator if you have that.

Or you can open it in Illustrator, export to an EPS file, then open the EPS in Acad.

naw, I have dozens of drawings here. I'll look into Illistrator, Thanks people
