Adobe Acrobat Forms

I have a couple of forms I have to fill out that are in Adobe Acrobat .PDF format. What I want to know is, is there a program where I can just save the forms and open it with another program and fill in the blanks? I really hate to print it out and use a typewriter....pain in the ass.

This is kind of off topic. Anyone have an update for v4.0 to v4.05? I tried to download it off Adobe web site, but they need the serial number. My copy is belong to a friend of mine. He's out for vaction. Can anybody let me download this update from you? If you got a fast connection, it's only 2.8MB in size.

Not a bad setup. Pretty much everything is SCSI.

That 4.00 to 4.05 update is actually an entire new version. It's about 52MB, not 2.8MB.

The 2.8MB file is an update for the 4.05... not to update 4.00 to 4.05

jimmygates... It could be 2 reasons you are not able to do this:

1) You have Acrobat Reader (free version)

2) The document is protected and will not allow your to alter it (If you have the full version).

Workaround: You can import the PDF into Photoshop or Illustrator and save as PSD then alter it. Then import back into Acrobat (full version) and save or print the PDF :Q

Thanks for all the input. Ya, I have the free version so I guess that's why I can't modify anything. Is the retail version alot better then the free version? Can I make my own PDF files with the retail version?

Wow, it's more than I thought. No wonder they want it on CD. The reason I want this update is it included the fix for Office 2000. It's not working property on my Office 2000. It hangs. Since it's over 50MB, I might have to wait till my friend's get back from vaction. Unless you have it somewhere I can download it. Thanks.

Jimmygate:
The retail version of Acrobat let you modify and create the PDF document. That's the reason why I upgrade it to retail instead of just PDF viewer. Trust me, you won't regret it.

The only thing I know is by Acrobat. Unless you can find another way to create PDF compatible without using Acrobat.

Here is a program that lets you create a PDF file with a WYSIWYG interface.

It's called Easy PDF

Since I have the 4.05 version of Acrobat (read/write), I have not tried this program.

I hate pdf files! why we can do it all just by using image files and a program that can interpret text on image files.

That Easy PDF seems pretty cool. But since it uses IE, I only end up with a screwed up looking desktop. Screen - black, Icon shapes - white. Netscape has its bugs, but at least I can just close out and re-open a window. With IE, most of the time, I have to re-boot.

Another soultion. Use picture capture and turn your text into JPG or some other picture format.

Blain... You will not be sorry for your investment. Another cool feature to Acrobat is the ability to enter a URL and it will allow you to save web pages as PDF files.

That sounds great! I plan on creating documents with links to everything under the sun. And burning them onto business card CDRs. I get tired of explaining to people how to do something to their computers. That way, all I do is hand them the right CDR and off they go. I think business card "resumes" would be the ultimate for someone in the "geek" field.

Yes, I have made many CD-R presentations with Acrobat, it scales and works great. As for a resume (or any text based), I prefer to create it using PageMaker 6.5 then tweak it in Acrobat. As for CDR presentations, I rather do it in Flash.

Speaking of CDR's.... have you or anyone else found a source for those cheap 3" CD-R blanks? Also, will your average hardware and software support it?
