I found out today that the admin tools (so you can manage an active directory) doesnt work under XP. It gave me a warning but I forced the install anyways, now when I try and run one of the snapins they just error out.

Anyone know if there is an updated adminpak that will work under xp pro that will allow me to manage my 2000 domain?

either that or a way to get it to work?

A known/documented issue. M$ has released an XP client version of the adminpak, but I don't know where you can get it.

Spy, a word of warning...

Don't edit Active Directory Group policy from your XP machine. It can seriously bork the policies.

That could be a problem, thanks for the warning before I got to spend time using it in an important production enviroment. (I've only tested and played with it on my home network thusfar).

Have you done this yourself, or heard so from elsewhere? Where does the problem come into play and what kind of symptoms would I see?
