Administrator account in WinXP Pro?

When you first install XP, it asks you to create the users that will be using the machine (there's slots for like 5 people I believe).

Normally the Administrator account is hidden. When it asks you to list the people using the machine, can the first person be "Administrator"? I don't like having to create more accounts than I need.

I may be wrong on this, but I think the first user is given administrator privileges. You are asked at some point during setup for a Administrator password....you can login with the username you created and the administrator password for Adminstrator access.

You are correct, however, I don't want to have both an "Administrator" account and a "BigToque w/ administrator privledges" account. I just want the first Administrator account. I'm just anal that way 🙂

I have an Administrator account which is named "adam" and I have a guest account which I just have disabled. Is that the kind of thing you're looking for with the one admin account?

Just go to Control Panel, User Accounts. There you'll be able to modify existing accounts and that should get what you want.
