Have a buddy that added another login to his laptop. He did so with the idea in case he couldn't login with the default Administrator login. He claims after adding a new login that the Admin login disappeared and he no longer has access to documents, etc., that he created under the admin login.

Can't say that I've heard of such a thing. I took a quick look at this laptop as he was leaving town yesterday. Looks like he added to new users. But, in fact, the Admin login is gone. He stated he tried the System Restore but with no luck. I rarely if ever can get System Restore to work for me anyway.

Any ideas?

When it gets to the login screen, hit Ctr+Alt+Del twice. This should switch the logon screen to the windows classic logon screen. He should then be able to enter "Administrator" for the username and login with the admin password. Hope this helps...

This is the normal behaviour, the administrative account is for setup and you should create a new administrative user as your normal login. As soon as you do, the normal administrator removes itself from the welcome screen. As Nathan posted, c-a-d twice to get the classic login (if no other users are already logged in), so he can move his settings over.
