I just sold off my projection TV and am waiting on the new models to go on sale before picking up a new plasma. In the mean time I moved the 42" panny plasma from the bedroom to the living room. The old TV was also a panny.
My problem is that I can't seem to setup the audio the same as I had it previously. With the old set I just turned the TV speakers off and could still use the TV volume control to adjust the sound level of the receiver. If I do that with the plasma it disables the volume control. The closest I've come to getting it to work was by selecting Prog-Out control on the plasma to the HDMI input. This would then allow the TV volume control to adjust the receivers output, but the TV speakers were still on resulting in a very odd sound situation.
Just for reference, I've got my cable/dvr box and dvd player connected to the TV with HDMI and composite audio from the TV to the receiver. (The receiver is by far the weakest/oldest part of my setup but I'm waiting HDMI to become more established with them before buying a new one)
Anyone with experience with a panny plasma know how to adjust the setup?
