Adjusting AMD stock CPU fan speed?

The story so far;

I bought a new psu few days ago, and it has a 12' fan on the bottom. This increase in airflow keeps my cpu cooler, and as such the cpu fan doesn't spin up as fast as before. Sounds good, right?

Well, therein lies a problem. As it turns out, the cpu fan makes this annoying high-pitched noise when it's rpm is lowish.

So what I would want to do is either force the fan to never go under certain rpm, or force it to remain in a specific rpm all the time.

This is the AMD stock cooler fan.

A 12' fan? Do you mean a 120mm fan? I couldn't imagine a 12 foot fan fitting in any computer.

But seriously, your CPU fan speed is controlled in the BIOS. You may or may not have options to control the fan speed in BIOS, depending on the BIOS. If you don't, try flashing the latest BIOS revision. If that doesn't work, try turning off AMD Cool and Quiet; as that may make the fan run at full speed all the time.

See if there are any fan speed control mechanisms in the BIOS. If you can, disable them, and then the CPU fan should run at full speed all of the time.
