adjustable fans?

i hear alot about them and that you can change the speed on them to make them go faster. why not just keep it at one speed?

Enermax makes some case fans that are adjustable.

The idea behind it --> keep "unnecessary" noise to a minimum...I believe they aren't actually user adjustable but there's a temperature monitor that throttles the fan speed as necessary.

Noise pollution.

When you don't need the extra cooling, for example on a cool day or when you're not fragging, you crank the rpm's down to reduce noise.

When you're in death match or it's 105F ambient, you crank the R's up for more cooling.

really all fans are adjustable if you're willing to fiddle with them. you can use them at 12, 7 or 5 volts.
