Adjust bass & treble output in real-time?

The sound card on my laptop doesn't support adjusting bass & treble in hardware.

I am using Dictation Buddy to record class lectures, but I want to adjust the bass & treble during playback.

Is there some software that I can use to adjust the quality of the sound playback in real-time (kinda like the EQ in WinAMP)?
