Adios Amigos

Eh . . . I've driven through it many times. The only place I've stopped is Steak n Shake though. 😛

Stay out of East St. Louis. (across the river in Illinois) It's a warzone.

It's not so bad anymore, but stay out at night for sure. The casino[riverboat!] in East St. Louis goes on cruises up and down the river.

Go to the Zoo or Grant's Farm. I live about 15 miles east of Belleville and work around the St. louis area.

For a GREAT time go to Fast Eddie's bon Aire Resturant in Alton. It's a beer joint with great food and is a local legend.

The Old Courthouse is a must see while you are visiting the Gateway Arch and the Bowling Hall of Fame is right around the corner.

A tour of Anheiser Bush is a must!

So much to do, so little time!

two words--Ted Drewes. ask anyone in town. they'll point you to the right direction. oh, and Imo's pizza. St. Louis style pizza is the shiznit. don't forget to eat on "the Hill." little known fact---St. Louis has the second highest population of Italians in the country. the Hill is the italian neighborhood. the restaurants are world class, by anyone's standards.

Yea, I went to St. Louis when I was a little kid, and the only thing I remember was the arch thing. I went up in it with my dad in the elevator thingy that was inside it, but my mom was too scared of the height to go up with us. :embarassed; 🙂

There are clubs, Winerys, Arch, Bowling Hall or Fame 🙂 , Ted Drews Frozen Custard, casino boats, St. Louis Rams, St. Louis Blues, a new shopping mall ( the biggest mall in Missouri ) and other stuff. If you want you can PM or email me for more info and maybe me and my GF can give you a tour of the city....

Yeah I live in St Louis also. Just be aware of where you're going. People with out-of-state plates are targets. At least half or more of the city is extremely unsafe after dark, some areas even in the day-time. Travel in groups if possible. Sorry to rain on your parade, but I'm not kidding.

Try to avoid East St. Louis, South Grand Blvd (2.0 miles from Highway 64/40), Tower Grove Park, area north of University Loop although the Loop is an awesome place, area around florissant and bellafonte.
