I have a p3 system, which has a vertically mounted psu.The cpu is a p3 550e slot1 cooled by a golden orb(tight fit beside the psu),and the graphics is a gf2 mx400 cooled with a hsf.The psu has a fan of course. As it is there are those 3 fans drawing air in the case.No case fans. One of the two harddrives in it died recently,(took me awhile to figure it out). When I pulled the bad drive out,it was noticably warm.It was below the other harddrive,a tight fit.Thinking it may be heat related ,I removed the cover for the unused 2nd floppy drive bay for extra cooling. The draw of the psu,cpu and graphics card fans pulls air in thru the open floppy bay, over top of the hardrive which is almost in the center of the case.Seems to be a good quiet solution.Any thoughts?Thx.
